If you're looking to find out the year of your new-school 2000 onwards Bully BMX bike, this guide will help you locate and read the serial number on your frame.
Below we list the known Bully BMX serial number formats. The later 2000's serial numbers are not yet included. Sorry if your BMX serial number format is one of those. We're updating information all the time. The below serial number sequence also includes some 1999 serials.
The serial number on Bully BMX bikes does not indicate model.
The serial number is located under the bottom bracket. The format is a string of numbers and letters. The first 3 letters are thought to be the factory code.
Eg: VICIK00317, SAFJJ00061, CICKJ00453
The fourth letter indicates the year of manufacture.

For the examples above I = 1999. J = 2000. K = 2001.
The fifth letter indicates month of manufacture.

For the examples above K = November. J = October.
The rest of the numbers are the frame number.
This frame were built November 1999, October 2000 and October 2001. These bikes are 2000, 2001, 2002 models.
The serial number will only give you the bike's build year and month. This is not the model year or the year the bike was released and sold in shops. All bikes had a production lead time. If the frame was USA made, the production lead time was plus 3-6 months. If the frame was made in Taiwan this was plus 6-9 months. This is important if you are restoring and want to know what decals the frame would have originally had. The last thing to note is that the serial number on GT BMX bikes does not indicate model. On early mid school USA made frames this was stamped separately.
