It all started with a dream. It started in a tinkerer's garage. It started with a little boy and a bent bicycle fork. It started when chro met moly. It started with a whole new way of looking at things... It all started with a Redline. In 1972 Redline Engineering is founded to custom-build exotic racing frames for motorcycles. In 1974 Redline fabricates a set of tubular chromoly forks to combat the glut of bent and broken forks on kids' bicycles. The first Redline standard is set. In 1975 Redline begins mass producing frames and forks for the BMX world. In 1976 Redline introduces the first reliable chromoly BMX handlebars. In 1977 the first double-clamp stem and the original forged aluminum/chromoly stem are introduced by Redline. In 1980 Redline introduces another industry standard: Tubular chromoly cranks. To this day, no manufacturer has rivaled the quality or performance of these original Flight Cranks. In 1983 freestyle goes legit when Redline introduces the RL-20, its first streetstyler. In 1984 A new name in BMX vocabulary: Forklifter. Still the standard handlebars. In 1985 Redline introduces its first All Terrain Bicycles, designed by the leading ATB designer. Mountain bikers sit up and take notice. 1990 Redline brings stealth technology to the streets, with the Stealth Pro Stem. 1991 The Redline Flight Group expands its full line of accessories, including pedals of aircraft-grade aluminum, hubs and ATB Flight Cranks. The Redline Platinum Limited Edition Bicycles are handcrafted for a select few. Everything you'd expect from everything that's come before.
